We interrupt this regularly scheduled post . . .

My new favorite guilty pleasure!

I should have had some photos up of our camping trip by now, but I have been busy with school shopping, catching up on episodes of Glee, textbook purchasing(for me), room cleaning(Emma's) and just the general craziness that comes with knowing the girls and I start classes in less than a month!!! Yikes . . .

Our spontaneous fun for the evening involved popping a Glee CD in the Mac and playing it so loud that Katy asked us to turn it down.  Eric jokingly told her "If it is too loud, you are too old" and she kind of screwed up her face at us in utter astonishment.  We then skipped down the playlist to the late 80's classic (done in true Glee fashion), Bust A Moveand Eric & I proceeded to do just that!!  Our "moves" were a little rusty, but still good enough to totally embarrass Katy.  She tried to hide her head in the magazine she was reading but we just kept on singing.  We rocked the living room!  The very best part was when Emma joined in and proceeded to "breakdance."  She sat on the floor and did a few spins.  Where she picked that up, I know not!  I thought Eric was going to choke from laughing so hard.  All the while, Katy pretended not to notice.  I wish we had taped the look of horror on her face and then the look of pure joy on Emma's.  It was so worth making a fool of ourselves in front of the big picture window!

New background . . .

Waiting for Dad to finish setting up camp!

I think I recovered my texts.  I hope the background isn't too silly.  Katy & Emma thought it was cute, so I will roll with it for now.  After I kill off the mounds of laundry in my kitchen I hope to post more photos tomorrow.  Until then, another shot of our vacation . . .

Back from McCall . . .

I just looked at the blog and noticed most of the text is missing.  I am trying to figure it out.  In the meantime, here is a photo from our camping adventure.

Ready to roll . . .

The Treasure Valley Rollergirls had a "Rink Rash Bash" at Qwest Arena downtown last night, and we were there . . .

Our choices of family entertainment last night included a charity softball game involving the BSU football team, the Twilight Criterium (Nothing to do with a certain movie/book but everything to do with the premier bike race in Boise--it is a huge event!) and the "Rink Rash Bash."  Easy choice you might think.  Stand outside in the heat and watch several cyclists wearing way to much spandex ride around a city block for 2 hours or watch a bunch of tough chicks wearing not so much spandex as fishnet stockings roll around a flat track knocking each other silly in air conditioned comfort.  You guessed it--we took our sweet girls to watch roller derby!  Aren't we just the model of good parenting?  It really was a lot of fun!  The funny names, the music, the overabundance of heavily tattooed men (and women) in the audience, and the fact that a whole lot of girls were in total awe of the action on the track.  Once we got the rules of play down, it was pretty exciting to watch.  Eric and I had watched "Whip It" a few months back and got a kick out of it.  When this opportunity presented itself, I ran out and bought tickets.
To sweeten the deal, the event raised money for  the Valley Crisis Center .

Katy seemed to enjoy it enough to ask if we could take her to the Rollerdrome when we returned from our camping trip.  A future "derby" girl in the making--only time will tell . . .

Of all the names we heard last night, my favorite was a moniker used by a young lady on the team the O-Town Derby Dames from Ogden, Utah.  Her name--Mauly Mormon!   Gotta love that . . .

No "evil" here . . .

This is, by far, one of my favorite pictures, ever!  Thank you to Laurie for putting them up to this.

Looks like my pictures are out of order!  This is us hanging out near the pool at the Red Rock Casino after the fireworks.

On our way to the fireworks display.

My Dad!  Do you see where Katy and I get our height?

Just a few pictures from our trip to fabulous Las Vegas.  We had a wonderful time.  Special thanks to   Dad & Laurie for letting us run amok in their house.  It was nice to see all of my family.  My nieces and nephew are growing just as fast as Katy & Emma!  I hope to add a few more photos soon. . .
I do not have any time to write as we are heading out again tomorrow for another road trip.  The girls and I are driving East to my family reunion at Lava Hot Springs.  We'll be there until Sunday.  It will be my first time to drive the truck and camper on the highway!  Woo hoo!  I hope to get back to the blog next week!  Have a great weekend.
