Hot Dog!

Spring break fun in Boise!  Eric took the girls up to Fred Meyer this afternoon so I could have a little peace while I worked on a term paper!  I think they had more fun than I did . . .

Random pictures . . .

A few weeks ago, Katy had a chance to play at Festival.  It is a day for elementary band and orchestra students to play a  musical selection in front of a "judge."  The judge is usually a band instructor from one of the secondary schools in the district.  This provides the student an opportunity to receive feedback from someone other than their current teacher.  It is also good opportunity to perform a solo piece.  Katy did a great job even though she was very nervous!  I was so proud of her.

I am not sure when I am going to get used to Katy looking older than she really is!  We have had a dreadful time trying to find age appropriate skirts or dresses for her.  Now that she is able to wear junior sizes,  the options seem to be limited to sleeveless /tank style dresses or hem lengths that are way too short.  She finally found this dress at Kohl's and was so excited when she figured out she would be able to wear nylons.  You can't tell, but her shoe has a little wedge heel.  As if she needed the lift . . .

Emma found this little number at the GAP.  We had been watching "Little House on the Prairie" and she told me this dress was a good "prairie" dress.  The matching metallic blue flats with tulle bow really sealed the deal for her.  I asked if she thought they were also "prairie" appropriate . . .
Speaking of "gap", did you notice Emma lost her other front tooth!   She now has 3/4 of one front tooth showing (the one lost before Christmas) and about 1/4 of the other pushing through.  It is kind of cute . . .

Emma's elaborate trap set for the leprechauns on the night before St. Patrick's Day!  Thankfully she only caught me as I was attempting to toss a few chocolate coins around her room.  I think I made up a good enough excuse to explain my behavior and she is still a believer. . .

I have been so busy with my classes this semester!  I am really looking forward to May 7.  I will have 2 semesters in the bag by that date!  Woo Hoo!  I hope to be able to write more after the 7th!
