My dad, Russ, and his wife, Laurie, flew in to Boise on July 1st for a week long visit. This was the first summer we were unable to make the trip to Las Vegas. I am thankful they had the opportunity to fly up to Idaho. We were so excited to have them in town! The last few times they were able to visit it was winter so this visit, we surprised them with some pretty warm temps. Not as hot as Vegas, but close on a few of the days! As usual, they spoiled us all, especially Katy & Emma. I am hoping to keep a better eye on our summer schedule so we can make the drive next year!

| Love to see family on our front porch! |
| 4th of July jello--on a penguin Christmas plate! |
| Dad and Laurie stayed at a hotel near the park that hosted the City of Boise fireworks show. We were able to grab a patch of grass an enjoy the display! |
| A night at Les Bois Park (Live horse racing is back in business in Boise/Garden City after a 2-3 year absence.) Katy had asked me about going to watch the races weeks before Dad & Laurie's visit. My response was "Why?" and then "Really?" Lucky for Katy, her Grandma enjoys a horse race now and again! Lucky for us girls, it was Ladies Night! Woo Hoo! I enjoyed watching the crowd! Very interesting mix. Of course, the best part was watching the gorgeous horses. Those are the moments when I can see why Katy is drawn to those amazing animals! |

| The view of the Boise Foothills is one of the many good things about Les Bois Park. This is also part of the Western Idaho Fairgrounds. I enjoyed many a country music concert with my grandma in these grandstands! We would get to the fair a little early to avoid the heat, find a good seat and order something greasy to eat! |
| Having fun at the park on the 4th! It was so hot and muggy that day. The girls enjoyed getting their feet wet in the fountain. I was pretty tempted myself! |
Thanks for the visit Dad & Laurie. We enjoyed our second Independence Day in row with you!
